B&MLs Flanger |
Description: |
I came across the B&ML flanger in the yard at City Point this summer. The flanger components came from the St. Georges Valley RR sometime in the 50s. BML installed the device on a fcat car with limited success. After a season to two the components were sent to BAR’s Derby shop where it was installed in a BAR fertilizer car and thence returned to!the BML. The fertilizer car was an essigned car when in service on the BAR running between The County and Searsport. /DL |

This scene is taken track side standing on ground once occupied by the siding. The branch diverged from main line and down grade to the right. Today the old branch row is a private road. The cross over switches would have been center frame in this scene. /DL |

Maps list this crossing as the Fowler Hill Road, however the sign out at the entrance calls it the Ed Nickerson Road. The open car is about where the siding's west switch would have been and the branch headed back past the camera to the left. /DL |
