Album Info:
Here are 16 photos of Pennsylvania Railroad steam-powered passenger locomotives. All of them are annotated "Photo Collection of Harold K. Vollrath." Each photo also includes a road number, a date, and a location ~ but none of them provides the name of the photographer. I purchased all of these photos in a single eBay auction on Sunday, 17 March 2019.

Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at Manhattan Transfer near Harrison, New Jersey, in March of 1934. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2082, a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as a D-16B during 1904, rebuilt as a D-16SB in March of 1916, and sold to the Kishacoquillas Valley Railroad (KVR) in August of 1936. In this context, it appears to be involved in the PRR's New York to Washington electrification project. Harold K. Vollrath Collection.

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5079, a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops as D-16D number "79" for the Philadelphia, Wilmington, & Baltimore Railroad during March of 1900, renumbered "5079" in 1903, rebuilt as a D-16B in January of 1913, and rebuilt as a D-16SB in August of 1916.
