Title:  Monolith Portland Cement 0-6-0 4455
Description:  Posing by the water spout on the MPC property at Laramie, 0-6-0 4455 gets its picture taken. 4455 was built by Lima in 1920. It was sold to Monolith in 1949 and would not be retired until 1970. 4455 would be donated to the Colorado Railroad Museum in 1972.

Description:  Idling at Laramie was Sperry Detector Car 136. 136 was originally built as New York Central Motorcar M-11 in 1928. It was sold to Sperry in 1948 and converted to a Rail Detector Car. 136 is still in service in 2023.

Description:  Visiting Burnham Shops in Denver is MP 41, a June 1950 EMD product. 41 had come into Denver with what was left of the Colorado Eagle. It had originally been numbered 7021 and would be retired in May 1972.

Magic Mountain 2-8-0 42
Title:  Magic Mountain 2-8-0 42
Description:  Sitting in the shed at the Magic Mountain amusement park near Golden, CO was 2-8-0 42. Built by Baldwin in 1887 as D&RG 420, it was sold to the Rio Grande Southern in 1916. As RGS 42, it ran until retirement around 1950. It would be sold to dealer Hyman-Michaels in 1952 when the RGS shut. In 1953, it was acquired by Bob Richardson's Narrow Gauge Motel and moved to South Alamosa. In 1958, it was sold to the fledgling Magic Mountain and operated at the park for a few years. 42 would be sold to a private owner in 1967 and moved to Monument, CO. At some point it ventured back to Golden before being sold to the Durango & Silverton in 1983.

Title:  United Fruit Company 2-6-0 6
Description:  Built by Porter in 1914 for Agricola de Guatemala, little 2-6-0 6 sits on display at South Park City in Fairplay, CO. It was purchased in 1965 and shipped up from South America. The locomotive currently wears a faux DSP&P scheme.

Description:  At the western extent of the C&NW system, a trio of GP7s pull a westbound freight into Casper, WY. On point is 1527, a 1951 EMD product. Following are 1550 and 1528. Lead 1527 was rebuilt to GP7R 4329 in December 1973. It would be retired in 1988 and sold to the Fox River Valley in 1989.

Title:  Michigan Northern GP7 1608
Description:  Seen on the Wyoming & Colorado in September 1989 is former Michigan Northern 1608. 1608 was built in January 1952 as Toledo, Peoria & Western 103. 103 was sold to Michigan Northern circa 1984. It would be sold to WYCO in 1989. 1608 would be rebuilt and shipped up to the Oregon Eastern. It was scrapped in 2022.

Title:  Mountain Diesel F7B 1511
Description:  Sitting in storage at the Wyoming & Colorado yard in Laramie is MDT F7B 1511. 1511 was built by EMD in Feburary 1949 as Rio Grande 555B (later 5552). 5552 was sold to the Alaska Railroad in 1970 and became ARR 1517. It would be retired in 1986 and sold to Mountain Diesel. 1511 would later be sold to WYCO. It was scrapped in December 2006.
