This 1924 Baldwin "Mountain" type locomotive was a Seaboard @-2 class. It had tall 72" drivers and could generate 200 psi of boiler pressure to be delivered to its 27"x28" cylinders. It's engine weight was 320,500 lbs and it could apply a tractite effort of 48,195 lbs. Note the massive tender loaded with coal above the cab roof. The date is approximate. |
