Description:
Good looking photo by an unknown photographer captures this Altoona built K4s in the afternoon sun. Sadly, it went to the scrap line in April of 1949. Bet it headed up some fast moving passenger trains in its time though! Specs - 80" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, and tractive effort of 44,460 lb. Date and location are approximate.
