Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-10-2 Class M-3 6307 at Denver, Colorado on an unknown date in 1950, photographer unknown, print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 6307 was built by the Brooks Works ( Alco ) in 1919 ( c/n 59825 ) and sold for scrap in July 1953. The CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet dated February 1, 1952 indicates that 6307 was leased to subsidiary Colorado & Southern Railway.

Description:  Nearing the end of its life, this 1919 Alco-Brooks Santa Fe-type steam locomotive sits quietly near the Denver locomotive shops. It will eventually be scrapped sometime between 1953-54. According to the Burlington Route Historical Society records, this loco along with its nine M3 class sisters were leased to the affiliate Colorado & Southern by CB&Q. Specifics - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 394,600 lb, a respectable tractive effort of 77.714 lb. No photographer listed.
