Description:  Celebration. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5813 and another "Centipede" whose road number is not recorded. Both are BH-50's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as BP-60 passenger engines rated at 3,000 horsepower each, but later regeared and reclassified as 2,250 horsepower BH-50's for freight and helper service only. #5813 was constructed in May of 1947 and retired in September of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.

Description:  Volkmer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken near Pinecroft, Pennsylvania, on 16 April 1959. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5823 and #5813. Both are BH-50's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, rated at 2,500 HP each, and retired in September of 1962 after just 15 years of service. In this context, they're passing under the Riggle's Gap Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Altoona to Enola. Slide produced and distributed by the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society.
