Description:  SP SD40R 7306 leads six BN units on no.15 as it pops out of Cascade Tunnel in May 19;9. This was shot before the tunnel roof was notched and tracks lowered to allow double-stacks through the bore.

Description:  BN 9219 and 9220 became BNSF, same numbers then got renumbered to 8119 and 8120. 8119 then became PRLX 8119 then CBFX 6021. 8120 was further renumbered by BNSF as 1410. BN 7307 was new to Missouri Pacific as SD40,#783 and was renumbered to 3083. Passed to SP then UP as a rebuilt SD40-2M. Then went to PRLX and got exported for further use overseas.

Description:  SP SD40R 7308, Clyde, Illinois, August 1982, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built as road number 8461 in April 1966 (c/n 31532) on EMD Order 7861, it was rebuilt to SD40R 7308 in July 1980. It was retired from the UP February 7, 2001, later becoming ICE 6415, then GECX 6415, and one source has it exported to Broken Hill Proprietžqy Company Ltd. (BHP) in Australia.
