ex-BR 45596 "Bahamas"
Title:  ex-BR 45596 "Bahamas"
Description:  #45596 was originally London, Midland, & Scottish #5596, although it always had its current name "Bahamas," at least as far as I know. It's a Jubilee Class three-cylinder 4-6-0, which means it would have been used on mid-range express trains, local passenger trains, and fast freights. The Jubilee class was intended, in essence to fill the gap in LMS's fleet between the Black Five class and the Royal Scot and Princess Royal express passenger classes, but it was always in an odd position as the Black Five could do most of the same things it could do, and do them better. In any case, with Nationalisation in 1948, LMS #5596 became British Railways #45596, but retained its name, and eventually ended up in the Keighley & Worth Valley's hands after British Rail phased out steam in the 1960s. This was the most complete shot I could get, as #45596 was crammed into the shop pretty tightly, although luckily one side of the shop has no wall!!!

ex-BR 45596 "Bahamas" Drivers
Title:  ex-BR 45596 "Bahamas" Drivers
Description:  Tais is my favorite of the bunch, by far, and may be one of my best photographs of all time. I love the way the light outlines the boiler, and most of my photography teachers in college agreed. The contrast is also near-perfect, even if the ground detail is somewhat limited. On many of my prints of this shot, I've burned the ground in, of course.
