Description:  Passing where NYC's famous Dreyfuss Hudsons once tread, 4449 leads her train across the diamonds at BO Tower, one of Michigan's last manned interlockings. In today's world, seeing a mainline steam locomotive AND an active tower together is an incredibly rare occurance.

Description:  I had a perfect shot lined up since I was forced to miss the Calumet tower shot I wanted, so I wanted to try getting a Hohman tower shot, I was on the road when a IHB cop came up and made everyone leave, this was my only decent shot, and the lighting was horrible!

Description:  Crossing Chicago Avenue just south of Calumet Junction. It was about this time that Mr. Claytor began using 4449's "steamboat" chime whistle. If you've never heard one of these whistles in real life you have no idea of how they actually sound. "Enchanting" isn't quite adequate.

After passing south through Calumet Jct. in East Chicago, 4449 accessed the e/w IHB mainline at Gibson Junction in Hammond. She's seen here heading west past the IHB's Gibson shops area.
