Southern Pacific's merger with Union Pacific is 8 months old at this date.UP has implemented a new train symbol system,The former Rio Grande Lines was the first to have this system. UP will soon pull the plug on this train going across the old D&RGW only to be rerouted across the Overland Route through Wyoming.

Back in 1993 Burlington Northern and Southern Pacific pooled power on an Iron Ore Train between Denver and Geneva Steel.

Worthy of your attention is SP 7457, rebuilt 9/82 from SP 8800, the very first of SP's eventual 357 unit fleet of SD45s, the largest of any railroad.
