The Manchester Locomotive Works built this American style locomotive sometime between 1900-11. It was an A-41 class unit with 69" drivers and 190 psi boiler pressure. No date was listed so it's a "guess-timation". Thanks to Stu Nicholson and espeically David Hutchinson, the location has been identified as the East Somersville roundhouse near Sullivan Square. LEW 4-4-0 #4158 - Lake Erie & Western |

This little 4-4-0 American type loco was built by Schenectady in April 1895 as CCC&StL 192, renumbered to NYCL 7128 in 1905, to LEW 4158 in 1907, Rebuilt at Collinwood in March 1918 equipped with superheater, retired in August 1923.. Here it is with a full tender of coal and steam up ready to head up a varnish consist. Only the year and location were listed on the back of this very old reprint. No photographer was listed. |
