Description:  ATSF dining car 61 survived long after Santa Fe passenger service ended as a proud member of the railroad's immaculate business car fleet. The 61 is seen at East Bridge Junction and is one of seven Santa Fe passenger cars riding the rear of Amtrak train No. 58, the northbound City of New Orleans. The cars visited New Orleans to entertain guests for Super Bowl XXIV. Description:  Built in 1950 by P-S in Lot #6851 to Plan #7625 as AT&SF 36 seat diner #600, 1 of 7 diners (#600-#606) ordered in June 1948 for the SUPER CHIEF and delivered between November and December 1950. #601-#606 were sold in 1971 to Amtrak #8070-#8075, #600 was retained by Santa Fe and renumbered in 1974 to #61 to BNSF #11. 1 of 5 BNSF cars on the rear of the EB #8 EMPIRE BUILDER on Saturday, July 12th, 2014. About to enter the west portal of the 7.8 mile Cascade Tunnel on the ex-GN Stevens Pass line (Scenic Sub). Description:  On Saturday, July 12th, 2014, 5 BNSF cars left Seattle on the rear of the EB #8 EMPIRE BUILDER over the ex-GN Stevens Pass line (Scenic Sub), seen here entering the west portal of the 7.8 mile Cascade Tunnel. Consist was #52 GLORIETA PASS, #68 ROLLINS PASS, #31 BAY VIEW, #11 FRED HARVEY, and #32 WILLIAM B. STRONG. In the photo are #68, #31, and #11.
