Was that stately old brick building behind the locomotive formerly a train station? Its architecture would sure fit the time frame circa 1890 - 1920.

No. That building was originally the county courthouse. It was built in the 1800s. It was found that it was too close to the railroad as the trains kept interupting court. Another court house was built later. It would be to the right and two blocks away in this picture.
