James Fisher	General	Actually thats only an A-B-B-B-B-A locomotive consist which was fairly typical to the CGW. Defenitely not a power transfer as they ran extremely long trains for their time. Often over 150 cars long so I am sure they needed all the available horsepower.	11/4/2011 12:12:42 AM

Ben Scanlon	General	the lettering does look rare. i believe CGW often ran as few as one train a day on their main lines, which took roundabout routings- so speed was not of the essence. they also did not mix motive power; Fs ran with Fs, GP30s with GP30s and SD40s with SD40s. for the saem reason ... they weren't that time critical so they'd make the train up to suit the capacity of the lashup.	10/12/2012 4:35:36 PM

Rick Hess	General	While normally true, the CGW did mix units. Not uncommon for them to use sets of GP-30's & F's. Rode such a combo in 12/65 on #143. Paint is a transitional scheme from 56-57 era. This looks like #143 leaving the Chicago Transfer. The CGW ran 4 daily trains on the Eastern Division along with daily locals(s).	3/14/2015 10:59:27 PM
