Kansas City Southern F7A slug 4060 was parked outside the diesel shop at WEST YARD, just west of New Orleans, between GP40-2 798 and another geep. The 4060 had been built in August 1950 as F7A 73D. It was assigned engine number 90 in 1957, renumbered 4060 in 1978 and then rebuilt into a road slug in 1979. It was retired in 1990 and sold to Lloyd Peterson in 1991 who had it cosmetically restored as KCS 73D and placed it on display next to the KCS depot in Decatur, Arkansas in 1993. |
