Burlington Northern Railroad C415 4010 at Clyde, Illinois, on an unknown day in November 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in November 1968 (c/n 6009-01) as Spokane Portland & Seattle 100, it was one of two owned by the SP&S (the other being SP&S 101, later BN 4011), both retired in October 1980. These two units turned out to be among the last five C415's built. The SP&S had four additional C415's on order, but those were cancelled when Alco exited the locomotive building business in early 1969. The two SP&S C415's moved on to work at Ohio River Terminals in Huntingon, WV. This is the rear view. |
