I do believe the 97 is a former CIRR unit captured by me and in one of my RRPicturearchives albums

You are absolutely right. The stenciling on the end just over the drawhead reading "Safety First" along with the stripes are exactly the way they were in it's CIRR days. The 97 was one of the original ALCO's on the CIRR having gone there in the early 1960's. Prior to that it worked as a Washington DC union station switcher along with another RS-1 that came to the CIRR, #38. I wonder if either of these locomotives are still operating???
