| Illinois Central (ICG) GP10 8005 in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in August 1978, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in April 1954 as IC GP9 9005, it was rebuilt during 1972 by the Paducah Shops to GP10 8005, sold to the CC as 8005, later renumbered to CC 1705, returning to the IC and renumbered to 8402. It is seen here eastbound at the east end of the ICG's Iowa Division, also known as the Saint Charles Air Line, climbing up over the downtown Chicago area and will shortly be southbound on the ICG's suburban Electric Division for the final leg of the trip to Markham Yard on the south side of Chicago. |
