Savage SD60I at Mid-America Car
SVGX SD60I 8729, formerly CR 5591, sits at Mid-America Car in Kansas City with fresh patches for the new owner Savage. This locomotive was originally adorned in Conrails blue livery with the iconic "Conrail Quality" logos back in November 1994 before receiving YN3 "Dark Future" paint by CSX after it was aquired in the 1999 liquidation of Conrail between Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation. In 2015, the now CSX 8729 once again received fresh CSX paint, this time with the updated YN3B appearence featuring the boxcar logo design. Later on, CSX 8729 was eventually sold to Progress Rail, and the future of the locomotive wasnt looking very bright. However, the now PRLX 8729 got a new lease on life after being aquired by Savage. This rare example of an EMD SD60I will now get to operate under SVGX reporting marks for years to come.
