IC 4022 City of New Orleans #1         
Northbound #2 Engines 4022 & 4105, 8 cars running on time at speed of 75 MPH struck a truck loaded with 1,545 gallons of gasoline at Magnolia street just north of the depot. The truck did not stop at the crossing sign. The train came to a stop 3,170 feet north of the crossing. The front of the engine was badly damaged by the collision & fire. The engineer & the fireman were killed.

Jeff harrell General We saw the loco after they brought it yo Mccomb. Jimmy Livinston the engineer was killed and a friend of my Grandad who worked for ICRR. The loco was parked on a side track at the north grade crossing. my dad took pictures of it. they hooked a black dp7/9 to the b unit and continued north. no e units were ever kept in McComb. the fool in the gasoline truck thought he could beat the train but the truck stalled on the tracks. theres a hump at that crossing. visibiliy is good for almost 2 miles looking south down the tracks. i know i crossed there many times. i'm from McComb. 6/6/2013 5:56:21 AM

Jeff harrell General Fred Goff if you worked for IC during the 1950's - 1980's you might know these ic employees > My grandad was Boyd Simmons and lived at 116 5th ave mccomb next to Eisworth Ford dealer, my uncle Billy Anglin was a diesel mechanic at the ic mccomb shops , a friends dad named Buck Deere worked at the mccomb shops , 2-friends named Donny Martin and Donny Corona brakeman and conductor , i moved to jackson and worked on track in the north jackson yard. my great grandad was Jefferson Davis Harrell(i'm namd after him) was an engineer for ic but passed away before i was born. i lived in los angeles now. 6/6/2013 3:16:53 PM
