Very interesting shot, James. This appears to be taken from about Franklin Field, facing NE, with old South St. yard across from the Suburban Line tracks. The train would then be moving southward and might be S-4 down from Norristown off the Schuylkill Branch, enroute Greenwich. The train often ran the Baldwins during this era (& often stalled on the grade around Cynwyd). There were so many intercity and intracity freights and transfers in those days, but the Baldwins and frame cars make me think Schuylkill Branch traffic. What a continually busy railroad that used to be, with a bit of everything! Thanks for the classic scene.

Awesome shot James. Baldwin center cabs at a great location. Very unique.
