Nice catch on the infamous "Barf Bonnet," one of the more interesting paint schemes tried and rejected. I have to agree with Joe above, I think this is a much more attractive color palette than the current scheme. I think BNSF missed the boat, as it were, by not adopting the scheme on the trailing units here, which I have always thought was rather elegant, though the Warbonnet is equally worthy and has a storied history. Perhaps the Grinstein scheme for coal service units, and red/silver for everything else?? Twenty plus years later, it's all a moot point. BTW, nicely framed with that wonderful scenery and lighting. Too bad about the power lines :(
