This Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-10-2 "Santa Fe" type locomotive was built between 1903-04 as an ATSF class 900. Used primarily as a helper for the mountain lines, this pusher had 57" drivers, developed a strong 225 psi, and delivered a substantial tractive effort of 57,314 lb. It was originally built as a tandem-compound design with 19&32X32 cylinders but was simplified in 1920 at San Bernardino with 28X32 cylinders, retaining the 57" drivers. Unknown photographer |
