NYCTA 9363
New York City Transit Authority Class R36 9363 somewhere in or around New York, New York on an unknown day in June 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I believe this may be the IRT Flushing Line at Hunters Point Avenue. Looks like a major bridge adjustment in the background, I'll bet there's a story to go with that. Please see comment below, thanks Tom.

Tom Beckett General You have the location correct. Not sure if there was any adjustment on the viaduct. Keep in mind, til the 1960's, this area was all railroad yard, and there were even some active tracks here til the laet 70's. The area where the photographer is standing once had tracks. This was a yard used to marhsall cars off carfloats that called at a ferry slip a few blocks to the west on the East River-MP 0 on the LIRR. 3/12/2015 2:23:33 PM
