The excursion train has changed ends and is now on the way back to Bath, the head brakeman having just flagged him over the crossing. This photo show the attractions in Cohocton: the Farm Museum, which chronicled life in the early days of the area, which is still largely agrarian, and the DLW station, which had been nicely restored. The trip was not too bad for a short line. Despite decades of little maintenance, the track was in pretty good shape, a testimony to the Lackawannas engineering. Unofficially, trains could make 40 for a good stretch between here and Bath. |
