| Built in May of 1975, this prototype was built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. First operated by Penn Central, then later Amtrak and Conrail, #1975 was eventually scrapped in the mid 80's after the need for an order of these locomotives was no longer required due to Conrail scaling back its electrified lines.
