Steam excursions are a lot of work for the hosting railroad, even one with a lot of experience at it. Some of the unseen parts of the operation are such as this-a hi rail truck preceding the move down the street trackage on 19th St in Erie, making sure the way is clear, and there are no obstacles that might pose a collision problem once the train reaches that section of track.
