Cleaner air?? That did not last too long for this locomotive. It was completely destroyed in the 2016 Panhandle Train Collision, alongside 5162 and 5416, with 5416 all burnt out. 5212, 7553, and 7838 were damaged beyond repair and scrapped. 7907, 8191, 8234, and 3970 were the only four locomotives involved to be put back into service

And in addition, 3967 was the first ET44C4 to be written off, and even the first ET44 of any variant to be totaled
