| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9860, an EFP-15 built by GM-EMD in July of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. It's pulling a three-car "extra" freight train, which is about to pass under the 4th Street Footbridge. One track over, the westbound mixed-cargo freight train pulled by engine #9525 is still waiting! (#39 of 44) |
