| Roundhouse. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2249, #2229, and #2206. All are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are on their way to couple onto a 160-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477243. Relegated to the background are a venerable steam-era Water Tower and what's left of the East Altoona Roundhouse. |
