| Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9768, #7249, and #9392. All were built by EMD. #9768 is an EF-15A built in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7249 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9392 is an ES-12 built in 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; it is just being towed, however. They are pulling a 93-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477807. There are also two pushers on the end: PRR engines #8608 and #8613. |
