Here is a photo that was published originally in the Pennsylvania Railroad Company's 116th Annual Report for the Year Ending 31 December 1962, page 19. Photo Caption: "Cushion underframe of this 70-ton box car gives maximum protection to shipments in transit. Company shops [in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania,] will build 500 of this type as part of 1963 car program." Shown here is a Shopman as he applies the finishing touches to brand new X-56 "Cushioned Car" #88358. The names of the photographer and the Shopman pictured here, as well as the exact date, are not recorded.
