| Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Chicago, Illinois, in August of 1961. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5874 and #5762. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5874 is an EP-20 built in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. #5762 is an EP-22 built in November of 1952, rated at 2,250 horsepower, acquired by the Penn Central and renumbered "4262," and later turned into a roadside cafe in Duanesburg (NY) as New York Central E-8 number "4097" (circa 2010)! |
