Here is the sixth of ten original photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken on or about the Pennsylvania Railroad's Atglen & Susquehanna Branch Trestle near Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, c. 1936. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad Maintenance-of-Way cars #492185 and 492201. Both are Class XL's and are here serving with the Testele Maintenance Crew. Note the four air compressor machines in the foreground; they are connected by hoses to the guard rails, which also serve as compressed-air feed pipes along the entire length of the Trestle! |
