SP (T&NO) 2-6-0 463
Southern Pacific 2-6-0 463 (second) was working at AVONDALE YARD, just west of New Orleans, coupled to a Harriman Common Standard passenger car. The Mogul had been built by Baldwin in 1912 as the 503, in the 500-514 group. It was rebuilt at the Algiers Shops in New Orleans in 1931, renumbered 688 (second) in 1949 and then 463 (second) in 1950. This loco was a real survivor, outlasting all of its siblings and most of the other steam locomotives on the T&NO. It was finally sold for scrap on 7 January 1957.
