Newark. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Newark, New Jersey, during December of 1961. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5670, an AS-6 switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in May of 1950 and rated at 660 horsepower. In this context, it's pulling a wire-maintenance train. Note that the pantograph on the last car in the train is in the "up" position, and that only one track at this location is electrified.
