East Altoona. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1952. The photographer's name is not recorded. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4335, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1943, and retired in October of 1959 after 37 years of faithful service. The tall smoke stack in the background belongs to the Power House associated with the East Altoona Roundhouse, partially visible at the far left.
