PRR 2369, L-1S, c. 1947
Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at KENDALL Tower near Elmira, New York, c. 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2369, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during March of 1917 and retired in September of 1959 after 42 years of faithful service. In this context, the Tower Operator has just "hooped" orders to the locomotive's Fireman. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware.
