This locomotive started out as Michigan Central #7978 (serial #59648) and was built by ALCo-Schenectady in November of 1918. In 1936, it was renumbered to NYC #1778 as seen here but later renumbered again in July of 1951 to NYC #6347. The loco was retired in September of 1954 and scrapped.
