Built by Baldwin in September of 1902 as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #412, the loco went through many renumberings during its service - , renumbered in 3/1907 to #1762, renumbered in 10/1912 to #4362, renumbered and simplified in 2/1915 to #2912, renumbered in 11/1920 to #2880, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1063.
