"The Enduring GG1," Page 54, 1975         
Here is page three of a ten-page article by Alan B. Chesley & Tony Koester entitled "The Enduring GG1." It was published originally in the December 1975 issue of "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, page 54. Middle Photo, Partial Caption: "Long after her birth, the PRR thought enough of 4871's capabilities and clean looks to use her on the 1956 inaugural run of the 'Keystone.'" Photo by Don Wood. Prominent here is PRR engine #4871, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during December of 1938, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired in February of 1968 after 30 years of faithful service.
