Tom Beckett General This kind of thing is why following old rail lines, even abandoned lines with no track, can be an interesting endeavor. You never know what you'll find. Most of the time, it's old bridge pilings, but occasionally there's an old building, or a signal, or a switch stand in the middle of a lawn that was left when the railroad pulled out. And sometimes there's not a thing, just an empty roadbed; and sometimes not even that. I've followed some old Rock Island branches, and a good chunk of the Choctaw Route across the Texas panhandle and New Mexico, and in many places you'd never know there was ever track there. Good luck following the line to Sioux Falls, hope you find some artifacts still in place. 6/18/2024 6:07:38 AM
