Erie Lackawanna no. 1057 had quite the history. It was outshopped by EL's Hornell shop in 1973 using the frame, cab, and hoods of ex-Boston & Maine RS-3 no. 1507 and the engine and trucks of Erie RS-3 no. 929. No. 1057 would be the only RS-3 with Phase III bodywork on the EL, and would later be rebuilt as an EMD-engined RS3m by Conrail. Unknown photographer, from the Ralph L. Phillips collection of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum. |
