The third order of Arrow railcars from GE were the Arrow II models built between 1977-78. Again, similar to the Budd RDC railcars, these provided much needed commuter service for the NJT. The Arrow II railcars were so successful that NJT ordered 200 more new cars, Arrow III's, built as married pairs in 1977-79. Avco supplied the car bodies while GE supplied the power train and assembled them at the Erie, PA, shops. Arrow III cars are still in service but a 2018 contract with Bombadier who will be building replacements. Not sure if they have been delivered as of this date.
