MidLouisiana Rail
Even though the reporting mark for the MidLouisiana Rail Corp. was MDS, MP15DC 45 is lettered MLRC; but the other three locos are still lettered for the North Louisiana & Gulf. The NL&G was renamed MDS when it was purchased by MidSouth Rail in July 1987. Scenes like this were only possible for two more years, since slug 50 (originally Rock Island SW1 531, then slug 998, then NL&G 50 in 1981) was sold to the Steelton & Highspire in 1989. The four NL&G/MDS MP15DC's were returned to their owner, Connell Leasing, in 1991. The Louisiana & North West diesel shop is behind the MDS/NL&G units. L&NW caboose 216 is coupled to F7A 45 and -- out of sight -- GP7 52.

Ron Moraca General Remarkable photo, Michael!! I can see one corner of the F-unit the crummie is coupled to. It's a guess, but I think it was an F7A. 4/9/2009 9:38:08 PM
