Title:
CAE 433
Description:
Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad 433 at Wheaton Illinois on an unknown date, photo by unknown photographer, Chuck Zeiler collection. Although the date is unknown, it is sometime after the July 3, 1957 suspension of passenger operations, and probably some time later still, judging by the pole reaching for the wire that isn't there. Number 433 was one of 15 cars built for the CA&E in 1927 by the Cincinnati Car Company, equipped with Baldwin trucks, four GE254 traction motors, and weighing 111,100 pounds, the heaviest cars on the CA&E.
