Album Info:Here are eleven original photos that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Erecting & Machine Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, from 1963 to 1966. Although not inclusive, they should give some sense of the layout and stuff of the E&M Yard. For comparison purposes, I've also included a B&W photo that was taken during the transition period between the "Age of Coal" and the "Age of Oil."

PRR E&M Turntable, 1963
Title:  PRR E&M Turntable, 1963
Description:  E&M. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata E&M Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 August 1963. Visible in the foreground is the trusty E&M turntable ~ witness to steam and Diesels alike. Beyond the turntable are the eastern side of the E&M Shop, some of the tracks from the Shop to the turntable, as well as eight locomotives built by several different manufacturers ~ including Baldwin, EMD, ALCo, and BLH. (Sorry for the bars . . . there's no way to capture a side view of the turntable without including the bars.)
