Album Info:Before Marion Tower was deactivated, moved and restored as part of the Marion Union Station Museum. In 1988, the tower was approaching it's last days. I was a TV reporter in Columbus at the time and got to interview the tower operator who ultimately was the last to shut the tower down.

Description:  Marion AC Tower was later closed, but was preserved, rebuilt and restored as a living museum exactly across the tracks from its old location. Also a bit unusual: I don't often recall seeing Conrail units running long-hood forward.

Description:  The old depot was looking a bit run down before local railfans and other volunteers funded an excellent restoration of the depot into one of the top rail tourism sites in Ohio.
