Description:  E&M. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata E&M Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during April of 1966. Shown here is the trusty turntable on the left. Beyond it are dozens of locomotives in various states of repair: from work almost finished to being cannibalized. Many makes and models are represented. Visible in the foreground is PRR engine #2329, an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Further back is PRR engine #7259, an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower.

Description:  WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2333, #2358, and another unit whose number is not recorded. All were built by EMD. #2333 and #2358 are EF-25's built in 1965 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are passing through the Altoona Passenger Station with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way to Enola and points East. Also visible (L to R) are one of the original PRR 12th Street Car Shop buildings and the PRR Test Plant building.

Description:  Museum Bound. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train near Pinecroft, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2245, #2350, and #2282. All were built by EMD. #2245 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2350 and #2282 are EF-25's rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2350 was built in 1965, but #2282 was built hn 1964. They are pulling a 95-car westbound ore train with N-8 caboose #478170. This photo was taken at the Route 483 Bridge. As of October 2014, #2350 was in active revenue service as Metro-North Commuter Railroad's number "104."

Description:  Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. On the right (R to L) are PRR engines #6307 and #6302. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company during 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They are pushing a 68-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. On the left (R to L) are PRR engines #2357, #2535, #7112, and #7033. #2357 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling ~ or, rather, braking ~ an 83-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477031. That's the Brickyard Crossing in the foreground!

Description:  Boulton. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in August of 1967. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2361, #2606, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2361 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2606 is a GF-25 built by General Electric as number "2506" in August of 1962, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and renumbered "2606" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, they're just entering the Curve with a "high-&-wide load" consist that's on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Visible at the far right is a portion of four-track Signal Bridge #2416.
